Improve sales with Power BI

Microsoft Power BI can do a lot. But to really get the most out of it, you need a lot of technical expertise. G. BOPP + Co. AG is well aware of this. With the support of 2BIT, the metal mesh manufacturer implemented a comprehensive sales dashboard. After only a short time, it has become indispensable for the employees.

"It is amazing how quickly 2BIT understood our wishes and processes," says Stefan Iten, Director Finance & Administration at BOPP. "It's also great that the orders are not only executed, but also checked again and again. 2BIT has become an important partner for us over the past few years.

As with many Power BI projects, the collaboration began with data preparation, configuration of interfaces to SAP and other core applications, and training. The aim of this first phase was to enable BOPP employees to use Power BI independently. "During this time, we really appreciated 2BIT's flexibility and customer focus," says BOPP CFO Iten. "If necessary, the 2BIT experts were always available - even at short notice.

In a second step, the well-prepared database enabled the creation of a comprehensive sales dashboard based on Power BI. Stefan Iten explains: "The information was already available in SAP, but the handling and visualisation was complicated and not self-explanatory". Today, the dashboard has become indispensable for both sales and management. It gives sales people an intuitive overview anytime, anywhere. And thanks to 2BIT's '2Writeback' add-on solution, comments can even be stored directly in Power BI to explain budget variances, for example.

But the dashboard is not just a valuable sales tool. Management also appreciates the up-to-the-minute information. This gives them a quick overview of the current status and allows them to compare budget data with the previous year's figures, for example - always taking into account current exchange rates.
